Lesson 32: Siblings and Friends - Slide  14

Conflict Between Siblings
And With Parents Is Connected
- Children are less concerned about the big differences between families such as wealth, social status, race, and nationality
- They are more concerned about the inequity that occurs within their own family
- Parent-child conflict is largely the result of sibling conflict over parental resources such as affection, time, interest, praise, and money
- Siblings compete with one another
for parental resources and
seek to maximize the
benefits from both parents
