Later Born Siblings

  • Later born children:
  • Try to find a valued family position that avoids duplicating the one already staked out by the first born
  • Cultivate openness to experience and take greater risks
  • Try to achieve through openness and diversity what the first born achieved through territoriality and conformity to parental expectations
  • For each sibling position there are different family rules and roles: oldest child, middle child, youngest child
