The Body Mass Index (BMI)

  • The BMI is a tool to assess the appropriateness of your body weight using a height-weight ratio that applies to adult men and women
  • Your BMI can help you decide the amount of exercise and changes to your diet you need to make to get in shape and maintain good health
  • On your own time, calculate your BMI and assess your weight by using the information and charts on pages 310 to 312 in your copy of “The Stress & Relaxation Workbook”
  • Use your BMI as a source of motivation and a measure to help you get back in shape
