Refocusing For 15 Minutes

  • It’s not the 15 minutes that’s important
  • The important thing is that at least for a few minutes you are not sitting and dwelling on self-destructive and bothersome thoughts and urges
  • You will not be acting on the thoughts and urges
  • Relabeling senseless thoughts and Reattributing them to a brain wiring problem will get you centered and ready to bring your mind away from cravings and urges and back to reality
  • Refocusing on another wholesome behavior causes thoughts, cravings and urges to reduce over time because they are not acted on
