Refocusing Means:

  • Put your obsessive thought aside and work around it by putting your mind in another place and doing another behavior that is more pleasant and functional
  • It can be any activity: taking a walk, doing needlepoint, shooting a few baskets, listen to music, cook
  • Early on, physical activity seems especially helpful
  • Whatever activity you choose it must be enjoyable
  • Do the activity for at least 15 minutes
  • Then do it for another 15 minutes
