- First listen to yourself:
- Pay attention to what is going on inside
- Think of some options for how to behave with your partner
- You can choose how you view
your partner’s behavior once
you become aware of your
own thinking and behavior
- Avoid making quick judgments, pause before you speak verbally or nonverbally
