Lesson 33: Couple/Partner Relationships Pt. 1: Slide 15

The Key To A Loving Relationship
- Research shows that demographic variables are not related to satisfaction in a relationship, that is, age, sex, wealth, religious affiliation or education
- Each partner’s feelings about the relationship are dependent entirely on their own attitudes not their partners
- Other-blame was the most important attitude in predicting dissatisfaction
- People who blamed their partners or people in general for the problems in their relationships were:
- Angry
- Frustrated
- Unhappy
- Intensely dissatisfied with their relationships
