Lesson 31: Parents and Children - Slide 16

Looking Inward For Rewards
- Finding a new role means looking inward
for your own approval
- Your parents may never say you did a
good job managing your addiction
- Sometimes:
- Families have excessive expectations
that leave you feeling guilty
- Parents and siblings take for granted the hard work you have done and will continue to do to change your life
- They see it as part of your punishment or reward for your “bad” behavior
