Roles Are Assigned Or Assumed
- Parents give us roles because they see us a certain way
- We assume roles because we are comfortable behaving a certain way and get positive feedback
- ‘Baby’ of the family avoids responsibilities
- ‘Bossy’ one barks orders
- ‘Quiet’ one offers no suggestions yet feels unheard
- ‘Rebel’ threatens to walk away
- ‘Dependable’ one picks up the pieces
