Lesson 31: Parents and Children - Slide 5

Talking Too Much About The Past
- In recent years, many therapists have realized that endless rehashing of childhood wounds can be counterproductive
- Repressing the past is not healthy but neither is dwelling on it
- Making even small improvements in how you deal with your parents will give you:
- A sense of accomplishment
- The courage to confront the past on your own terms and only as much as is necessary
