Unhealthy Families Result In Unhealthy Family behaviours

  • Sabotage: Members are secure in their roles of rescuers and caretakers. When an unhealthy member starts to get better or enters a rehab program, the family balance is severely threatened. The rest of the family finds ways to sabotage progress so that everyone can return to their familiar role
  • Triangling: One family member enlists another family member as a confidant or ally against the third family member
