Alcohol Is Commonly Used With Other Drugs

  • Alcohol is used by people on probation to avoid complying with court orders not to use drugs because alcohol cannot be detected after 10 to 12 hours
  • Alcohol is combined with other drugs to see how high one can get
  • Combining drugs can lead to addiction sooner and to relapse
  • Alcohol is most commonly combined with prescription drugs
  • Marijuana and alcohol are now the most common combination although alcohol is frequently combined with other drugs, legal and illicit
