Women Who Drink

  • The percentage of women who drink has increased from 45 to 66% over the past 40 years
  • As many as 5% of women are heavy drinkers
  • Women’s bodies are generally smaller and have a larger % of fat which causes them to develop a higher blood alcohol concentration than men after drinking similar amounts of alcohol
