Stress – Negative Or Positive?

  • Stress is more likely to have a negative impact if we feel threatened or at risk of danger or loss and if the stress is long lasting
  • Health is harmed if we respond to stress with unhealthy behaviors like taking drugs or alcohol, over eating, or eating junk food
  • Stress can be positive if we see stressful events as a personal challenge, an opportunity for personal growth or something we can strive to overcome
