6. Craving

  • Craving is the subjective desire to experience an addictive substance
  • Research has shown that craving does not need to result in loss of control and using
  • Craving can be managed by learning about your own personal craving situations, and then developing coping strategies to manage them
  • Developing an effective Craving Management Plan (in Chapter 5 of our free book Make Your Last Relapse the Last) can result in decreased risk of relapse
