  • Temptation coping skills:
  • Using thinking and actions to help you to resist using drugs and alcohol for recreation or fun
  • INSTEAD OF THIS: “Everyone says that Ed’s party is going to rock! I’m going to get wasted and party with my friends at Ed’s all night!”
  • DO THIS: “After the last party where I got wasted, I drove, got stopped by the cops, got a ticket, and then had my driver’s license revoked. The outcomes of using are not great for me. I’ll invite my friend Bob to work out at the gym and then go catch a movie”
