Alcohol Abuse Affects Sleep Patterns For A Long Time
- For up to 2 years people may continue to experience :
- Increased time required and more difficulty in getting to sleep
- Frequent awakening after getting to sleep
- Poor overall sleep quality
- Sleep deprivation and daytime drowsiness
- Resumption of drinking often results in falling to sleep quicker in the short term which is a factor in relapse
