In The Long Term, It Is Easier Not To Give In To Cravings And Urges Because:

  • Changing your behavior changes your brain
  • Brain scan pictures show that the more automatic a behavior becomes, the less energy the brain cortex appears to need to perform it
  • It has been scientifically demonstrated that by changing your behavior, you can change your brain and reduce the energy required to ignore urges and cravings
  • Change your responses to your brain’s false messages, and you change the brain circuits that send those false messages
