What Are Compulsions?
- Compulsions are behaviors that are done in an attempt to reduce or end the fears and anxieties caused by the obsessions
- Although the person recognizes that the urge to drink, gamble or have compulsive sex is senseless and destructive, the feeling is so strong that the untrained mind becomes overwhelmed and the person performs the compulsive, undesired behavior
