Realistic Expectations
- If couples have low expectations they may not:
- Bother to work on their relationship
- Use their relationship skills to achieve satisfaction
- Couples with poor relationship skills and high expectations:
- Start off with lower levels of satisfaction
- Then drop even further
- Realistic, positive expectations and good relationship skills are the best combination for couple satisfaction over time
