Effective Communication

  • 1. The Disarming Technique:
  • Find some truth in what they are saying, even if you feel convinced that what they’re saying is totally wrong
  • 2. Empathy:
  • Put yourself in their shoes and try to see the world through their eyes
  • Paraphrase their words
  • Acknowledge how they’re probably feeling, given what they are saying to you
