Impact Of Drinking On
Women’s Health
- Women are more likely than men to develop
high blood pressure from drinking
- High blood pressure is a major cause of
heart attack and stroke
- This risk is lessened when the woman stops drinking
- For women who drink even moderate amounts of alcohol the risk of increased blood pressure is substantial
- Women who drink 2 to 4 drinks per day increase their risk of breast cancer by 41%
