A Purpose Statement Takes Time

  • Developing a purpose statement can take time
  • Every day re-read your draft, think about it, and say it slowly to yourself, over and over and see how it sounds
  • Don’t worry if it seems too grandiose, it’s only meant for you
  • Does it capture your essence?
  • Test it out to see if it helps you make decisions that are consistent with who you really are
