Why Do You Feel Ambivalent?

  • Psychological dependence on alcohol and drugs for coping with difficult emotions and situations causes ambivalence every time these situations arise in early recovery
  • Until you learn new ways to cope with negative emotions and they become your new habits, every time you experience anger, sadness, loneliness or … you will yearn to use again
  • Emotions are powerful cues
