Can All Stress Make You Sick?
- If stress is intermittent, your immune system will have a chance to recover and be ready for the next assault
- Unless the body has a chance to recuperate, the stress hormones accumulate and build up
- What kinds of stress can deplete the body’s ability to fight off sickness?
- Chronic illness, chronic emotional stress such as depression, anger or anxiety, chronic physical stress such as lack of sleep and food
- If the stress persists the immune response
can fail and you can get sick
