Difficulties That Support Feeling Lonely

  • People who think of loneliness as a defect have:
  • Less skill in sharing about them self
  • Less responsiveness to others
  • A tendency to approach social encounters with cynicism and mistrust
  • More likelihood of evaluating themselves and others in negative terms
  • A tendency to expect others to reject them
