After Rehab or Quitting

  • Studies over the past 10 years consistently found that having drug users in the social network of people who have completed rehab predicts a return to use or relapse
  • Participation in the drug economy, dealing, cooking, distributing, etc, beyond being a purchaser and user predicts a poorer chance of staying in rehab and achieving abstinence
  • Holding at least one role in the drug economy versus none was associated with far higher levels of use and relapse
