Take It Slow If Your Addiction Has Resulted In Isolation Or Fractured Relationships

  • Don’t overwhelm friends and family with phone calls and e-mails now that you are clean and feeling better
  • In the beginning keep communication brief, 5 minutes on the phone or a few positive words in an e-mail
  • Ask friends and family for times of day or week you can call them and respect those times
  • Have a plan for crisis situations when you may need to set aside those restrictions
