Social Support Is A Critical Determinant Of Relapse

  • Negative social support in the form of interpersonal conflict and social pressure to drink or use drugs increases the rate of relapse following treatment

  2. Indirectly through modeling, a friend orders a drink at dinner
  3. Through cue exposure such as drug paraphernalia in the house
