- Become informed because people who are informed about STDs and how to prevent them, generally act in ways that keep themselves safer
- Find quiet times to talk with your partner about sexually transmitted infections to decrease the likelihood that you will become infected. Avoid trying to talk about it in the 2 minutes before sexual activity
