How Much Sleep Is Necessary?

  • No one can live without any sleep
  • 2/3 of people sleep an average of 7 ½ hrs per day
  • How much sleep you need depends on:
  • Genetics
  • Overall state of health
  • Among the general population:
  • A very few people need only 4 to 6 hours a day
  • A very few people need a lot or 9 to 10 hours a day
  • Most people need 7 or 8 hours of sleep per day
