What Are Cognitive Skills?

  • Cognition is the act of creating knowledge by reasoning, intuition or perception
  • Cognitive skills help us to change exaggerated or biased ways of thinking that cause stressful emotions like depression, anxiety, and anger
  • Errors in thinking result in inappropriate responses to situations
  • We create the way we feel by the way we think
  • The way we think and feel influences how we act
